Post written by Leo Babauta. Before I learned how to change habits, I was stuck. Here is your Tuesday STORY on: SELF DEVELOPMENT We live by our own knowledge and experience; we cannot deny that. But the real harm is when we don't use it. It is amazing to find that most every person wants to improve themselves, yet allow so much knowledge and experience to pass them by. Those who don't understand wisdom will concede that to progress we need to value all our GOOD moments and chart them. This is of course inaccurate, as we need to value our mistakes as it is these that lead us forward. If we only ever use the moments of excellence to guide us, we could be waiting a long time for that next moment to arrive. However, should we value every mistake we instantly correct our path and are unlikely to step down that dead end road again? The difference between the two approaches is that the person who learns from every moment of glory may only need to remember one principle every week. This could be defined as being lazy. Yet the person correcting mistakes and learning from them will expect nearer 100 to overcome each week. The greater skill and craft comes from those who practice more. There is no denying that the value of the better moment is important, but the skill comes from those who understand that constant use of your senses improves their clarity. Without this clearness of vision we'll fall into the same trap over and over again. Today's excerpt includes a wealth of experience from a well respected author and television presenter. WHAT I HAVE LEARNED I Have Learned that... ... the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person. ... when you're in love, it shows. ... just one person saying to me, "You've made my day!" makes my day. ... having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of the most peaceful feelings in the world. ... being kind is more important than being right. ... you should never say no to a gift from a child. ... I can always pray for someone when I don't have the strength to help him in some other way. ... no matter how serious your life requires you to be, everyone needs a friend to act goofy with. ... sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart to understand. ... simple walks with my father around the block on summer nights when I was a child did wonders for me as an adult. ... life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes. ... we should be glad God doesn't give us everything we ask for. ... money doesn't buy class. ... it's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular. ... under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved. ... the Lord didn't do it all in one day. What makes me think I can? ... to ignore the facts does not change the facts. ... when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting that person continue to hurt you. ... love, not time, heals all wounds. ... the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to surround myself with people smarter than I am. ... everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile. ... there's nothing sweeter than sleeping with your babies and feeling their breath on your cheeks. ... no one is perfect until you fall in love with them. ... life is tough, but I'm tougher. ... opportunities are never lost; someone will take the ones you miss. ... when you harbour bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere. ... I wish I could have told my Dad that I love him one more time before he passed away. ... one should keep his words both soft and tender, because tomorrow he may have to eat them. ... a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks. ... I can't choose how I feel, but I can choose what I do about it. ... when your newly born grandchild holds your little finger in his little fist, you know that you're hooked for life. ... everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you're climbing it. ... it is best to give advice in only two circumstances; when it is requested and when it is a life threatening situation. ... the less time I have to work with, the more things I get done. (By Andy Rooney) QUOTE: "Results! Why, man, I have gotten a lot of results. I know several thousand things that don't work.' (Thomas Edison) [[ct]]: Hope

Hey section, ive typed a new poem. Some of my better work maybe?
"Cloudy Days" ~~~~~~the 400+ accoounts aka The King of Tr0ll5? ? ? ? ?? The bandwagons back now, seems its here to stay, the loyal Maver-ick fans, theyve all gone away. Now its the new Heat fans, the Thunder as well, they've come to the section, to give Laker fans hell. where were they last season, when times were not good, why didnt they show up? man up like they should? but now things are GREAT now, we ALL love the Heat, just look at the profiles, saying they "Cant Be Beat" And what of the Thunder, remember last year? why didnt they show up then? jump up and appear?. And look at the Heat "fans", do they have no shame? used to be empty, now sold out every game. American Airlines, it used to be bare. now its full of bandwagons! trolls everywhere! And dont get me started, on team OKC, there were no true fans here, as best i could see. i wish you good luck though, i hope your team wins, if they lose i bet ill ask you, where the HELL have you been? because you wont be here, because you "cant stay", because youre "fairweather" you dont like cloudy days. you call out the Lakers, to me youve been rude, youre jealous of KB but, what the hell did i do? i think that youre jealous, when you call out our name, i think that youre nervous, to play us in games. i wish you would leave here, cause i want to stay, i dont want to be here, with noob fans that act .gaay. im tired of the Heat fans, all they do is hate, where the hell were they last time? whyd they all show up LATE? so in my conclusion, we dont want you here, so go and kick rocks now, please dont re-appear. come back when you're loyal, come back when you're smart, come back when you've grown up, we'll make a new start. my days have been cloudy, sometimes i cant see, sometimes its so foggy, my Lakers left me =( but IM a true fan though, a noob i am not i dont go around riding, whatever is "hot" i wish you the best though, i hope your team wins, i hope you can go there, to where we have been.

Exerciseing help please!?!?!?!?
So I'm 14 and in 8th grade I've never really done a sport. From ages like 10-12 I danced but nothing serious. And next year I'll be going to high school and I want to play field hockey. But the thing is I need to get into shape. I'm 5'2 and about 120 llbs. I went to some meeting and there's this work out plan that they gave us for over the summer. But now I'm starting by every day going on one of those indoor bike things... If you know what they are like they sit back and it's like a bike. So I do that for 30 mins, 50 sit ups, 15 push ups, 10 lungs each leg, 10 squats. With an occasional more or little less. I just started Monday and today is Tuesday. How long do you think it will take me to get into shape? And not have everything feel so hard to do? And that plan is only for now just to get started. ( also I have a concussion and I have PFS in my knee. I've been working on both of those however and it should be getting better I hope!(: )

Nice guys finish last, girls hate us. Jerks succeed in life and get girls. I hate myself, how can i be a jerk?
Before I start No i didnt get rejected, NOT TROLLING and Yes its kinda lengthy but WELL WORTH the read. Oh and dont give me the "be yourself" "A girl will love you for you" "A girl will see your niceness and want to be with you" "One day you will find your girl" because that is nothing but fantasy and a perfect world. Women subconciously love the assholes and jerks. They drool over them and want to sleep with them. They chase and chase the jerk who doesn't care for them and actually abuses her at times and she still wants him. Yet the girls have the guts to then say "I just want a gentleman/nice guy to be with" and yet 100% of the time the girl has a nice guy in their life who loves her and when he asks her out she freaks and rejects him, what happens? She goes back to the jerk (or chases a new one) and has sex with him and he dumps her and the cycle repeats. Not all women are like this but over 95% of them are. Now women want the "nice guy" in their late twenties when she has lost all her beauty and the jerks don't want her anymore. She is all "used" by the jerks (By used I mean has had sex so many times with guys she is beyond loose) and then the nice guy is all she can settle for, Is that when I come and save the day to pick up the leftovers from the jerks?.....yeah cool -_- For me Im 17 almost 18 and never had a girlfriend, never kissed, cuddled, grinded or even held a hand for christs sake. Im not funny, witty, have no talent, not muscular, i have a wierd voice. Basically I lack all sex appeal (Dispite being called "cute" by many girls). No girl has ever shown interest in me ever and to top it all off....IM SOCIALLY AWKWARD. Basically I can hope to be rejected until the age of 27 or over until all those girls "want a nice guy" Things really change in college dispite everything saying 'Things will be better in college". And when I have my first kiss the girl probably will have kissed at least 7 guys before me, im nothing but a number. Face it, girls DONT want guys like me, they want guys who will abuse them and treat them bad. ALL GIRLS WILL DENY THEY WANT A JERK! In fact I know that girls who answer this will be like "I hate jerks, I love nice guys!" Yet you probably dream and get wet about that hot jerky guy at school. WHAT WOMEN WANT AND WHAT THEY ACTUALLY GO FOR ARE DIFFERENT. This stupid fantasy world of "falling" for someone doesnt exist I hate listening to songs and movies about love. The other day I heard someone talking about "The Vow" and how romantic it is, I had such an urge to beat the **** out of them for saying that. Love does not exist, if it does its not for the rejected losers like me. Im tired of being nice and im fed up, if no one will wan to be with me, then Im hiring an escort so at least someone would be with me, even for a night
