‘A good traveler has no fixed plans, and is not intent on arriving.’ ~Lao Tzu Post written by Leo Babauta. There is something about my mind, and many people’s minds, that is overly optimistic. Why do I keep getting pulled back into the situation?
My ex-husband moved due to job reasons and left our child with his mother. She is turning 15 tomorrow. I went to stay with her and could not adjust because I was staying in my ex-husband's house and my mother-in-law was interfering. Well, now my ex-husband has accused me of taking things from his house even though I did not. He is also telling me to come back and stay in his house until our daughter graduates from high school. He has had several offers on the home, but has not accepted them. He is very worried about our child as I am. His mother is halfheartedly doing things for the child. I am getting dragged into a situation that I know is not healthy or good for me. Yet, I feel tempted because I don't have much going for me in my life now. I basically go to work and attend a divorce recovery group once per week and do errands and work out on the weekends. Any suggestions to not pulled back?

Southern California: Looking for a divorce recovery/support group.?
Hi all, I'm going through a divorce and was wondering if anyone knows where I can find a support group. There are tons of online forums, but I'd really like to be part of a group that meets regularly. I've tried parent without partners and they havne't responded to my emails. I'd love to find a group like this for singles in general (not just for single parents. Thanks for any suggestions. Heidi

How do you find positive people to surround yourself with?
I want to be around more positive people. I am divorced and am currently living with my parents. My daughter is 15 and lives with her Dad in another state. I talk to my cousin about some of the issues that I am going through with my ex-husband. She says that I should contact a lawyer for harassment and stalking. I do not agree and she gets frustrated with me. She also points out my weaknesses.. She is one year older than me, but I have decided not to talk to her much anymore. I spoke on the phone with my brother and he insulted me so I hung up on him. I later sent a note to apologize, but he did reply. My cousin keeps reminding me that I hung up on him. I don't talk too much to my parents. They judge me in their own ways. I do attend a Divorce Recovery Group once a week and get support from it. They have outings once every few weeks. How else can I try and avoid negative people and be around more positive, uplifiting people?
