‘He who is contented is rich.’ ~Lao Tzu Post written by Leo Babauta. There has been little in my life that has made as much an impact as learning to be content — with my life, where I am, what I’m doing, what I have, who I’m with, who I am. This little trick changes [...]

‘Begin at once to live, and count each separate day as a separate life.’ ~Seneca Post written by Leo Babauta. I’m not a rich man, nor do I fly around the world and drink champagne with famous people in exotic locales, nor do I own a sports car or SUV or a yacht. And yet, [...]

Post written by Leo Babauta. Today (April 30) is my 39th Un-un-birthday, and as usual, the day is a good day to pause and reflect. Last year I wrote 38 Life Lessons I?ve Learned in 38 Years, and people seemed to find some use in it. This year, I thought I’d share an additional lesson [...]
How to Fail at Habits
by Leo
24 Apr 2012 at 11:28am
Post written by Leo Babauta. Before I learned how to change habits, I was stuck. I kept trying to change various habits — running, eating healthier, waking earlier, getting out of debt, ending procrastination — and I kept failing. I got very good at failing, in fact. Looking back on those days, given the power [...]

Why We Overplan
by Leo
17 Apr 2012 at 8:40am
‘A good traveler has no fixed plans, and is not intent on arriving.’ ~Lao Tzu Post written by Leo Babauta. There is something about my mind, and many people’s minds, that is overly optimistic. We think we can do so much each day, and so we overplan. We fill our plans with so much, confident [...]

Can I ask your opinion? TEENS AND ADULTS-Your answers might be read on TV!?
Okay so I'm a teenage girl, and I need to collect information for this TV show I'm going to be going on on Wednesday. If your answers are relatively detailed (and appropriate) I'll read them out on the show-it will show random people's opinions on this matter. The show is called In Your Corner. If I read any on the show, I'll e-mail you the YouTube link of the show :) Okay, and the issue is: 50% of all calls to Kids Help Phone are related to depression issues. Many teens are severely depressed and calling to talk about suicidal thoughts. A lot of this depression comes from stress with school, relationships, etc... What do you think of this? Also, are there any extra circular activities/sports that help YOU cope with stress? Thanks so much, and remember if your answers are detailed enough, I'll read them on TV. If you'd like me to say "This answer was from (name) from (state, province, or country), then write your info at the end. Message me any questions! Alexa

Why are some ways of coping with stress looked down upon?
Everyone deals with stress in a different way, but there are some ways of dealing with stress that society does not approve of. Take for example these many ways different people cope with stress: -Going for a walk/jog/run -drinking -watching tv/movies -smoking -listening to music -playing videogames -going for a drive -eating -getting high -lifting weights -yoga -meditation -golfing -reading These are just a few; there are many more ways of dealing with stress that people use everyday. How do you deal with stress and would you judge somebody else if they used any of the above methods for getting rid of their stress? Thanks everybody for your input, I appreciate it.
